Cristina Guseth is the Director of the Freedom House Romania Foundation (FHR), since 1997. Before Romania’s accession to the EU (2005-2007), Ms. Guseth coordinated the media and PR relations department at the European Commission’s Delegation to Romania. Over the years, Ms. Guseth has implemented projects that cumulatively surmount 3 mln EUR, working with the European Commission (e.g. DG COMP, DG REGIO, DG HOME, European Anti- Fraud Office), the embassies of the USA, UK, France, Netherlands, Norway in Bucharest, as well as with state institutions and various civil society entities (e.g. Civil Society Development Fund). The projects developed by FHR, during her leadership, tackled issues related to rule of law, justice, good-governance, European integration, non-discrimination, mass-media and fake-news. Since 2017, Ms. Guseth has developed the first network of local press in Romania, encompassing over 30 publications.
Stefan Josan is project coordinator at Freedom House Romania. Previously, Stefan worked on European affairs and international relations at the European Parliament, the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, as well as on elections with the OSCE/ODIHR. Stefan holds an MA from the College of Europe (Bruges, 2017) in EU international relations and diplomacy studies and another double MA degree in Political Science and Geopolitics from Babes-Bolyai University and Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée. He also graduated from the University of Craiova, BA in international relations and European studies. He did several Erasmus exchanges in France and Hungary. Stefan speaks fluent English, French, Romanian, Russian and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
Carmen Dumitrescu is an investigative journalist. She started her journalistic activity in Teleorman county, being co-founder of the newspaper Liber in Teleorman, where she carried out numerous investigations related to corruption in the county. Later, she became a collaborator of several media institutions in Bucharest, such as Mediafax, Europa FM and G4Media. She graduated from the Edward R. Murrow Research and Investigation Program in the United States at the Poynter Institute in Florida. She was awarded at the Superscrieri Gala in 2019 in the “Local Press” section. Carmen was also awarded by the US Embassy during the “Romanian Woman of Courage” event in 2019. She is also a writer, having so far published five novels, her most recent being the book “Those who do not lie”.
Georgeta Marin is our accountant with a an experience of over 17 years in accounting, payroll and consulting services: non-profit legal entities, services, trade, transport, production. Georgeta holds a master’s degree in accounting and auditing.
Augustina Petcu is the financial manager at Freedom House Romania and is responsible for the financial reporting of projects to partners and sponsors, including the European Commission, the US Embassy, the United Kingdom, etc. Previously, Augustina worked at Ozone Management International, La Fantana, A&D Pharma. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Al.I Cuza University – Iași .
Teofana Cepoi is the project assistant at Freedom House Romania. She has worked in community development and education in Kenya, India, France and with asylum seekers in Italy. She is a graduate in International Relations and European Studies, and is currently a masters student in Development, International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid and Psychology.

Fritz is a rescue kitten from Moeciu, who came to the Capital with his brother and sister.
The brother found a reliable home in sector 1, and Fritz’s sister fell in love, followed the laws of nature and left us. Fritz stayed.
He has eight more lives, because one was already consumed when he left the office flying from the seventh floor to pigeon hunt.
Fritz knows everything that goes on in this office. But he can’t say.
