A free and independent press is one of the cornerstones of a healthy democracy. A free press informs the public, holds the rulers accountable and exposes corruption and other dangers to society. Freedom House Romania has been investing in a strong press since its opening, in 1998, when we initiated the first annual gala of the Young Journalist of the Year. Through our activity we offer professional development programs, scholarships and finance quality journalism projects.
