Adopta o casa

 

  In 2004 Romania s-a confruntat cu cele mai devastatoare efecte ale inundatiilor. Am decis atunci sa ne alaturam initiativei programului “Adopta o casa” al Consiliului Judetean Timis.

  Ne-am adresat partenerilor nostri traditionali, JTI Foundation-Geneva, organizatie non-profit care se implica in situatii limita, de dezastre nationale. Prin programul “Adopta o casa” a fost construit un numar de sase case, în care s-au mutat sase familii sinistrate din Otelec si Ionel, jud. Timis.

  A fost pentru prima data cand Freedom House, organizatie care promoveaza drepturile omului si statul de drept, se implica intr-un program din sfera sociala. Proiectul a avut si o parte de “fund raising” spontan si generos, care a indus o responsabilitate sporita pentru cei din Freedom House: am reusit sa obtinem scutire de TVA, pentru banii veniti de la JTI Foundation, Geneva.

  Programul “Adopta o casa” a fost sustinut financiar de catre companiile JTI (prin Fundatia JTI Geneva), initiativa la care s-au alaturat Farmexim si Unicredit.

 

Mission Statement

Freedom House functions as a catalyst for freedom, democracy and the rule of law through its analysis, advocacy and action.
